The Department of Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley, is seeking applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Law, Politics, and Public Discourse, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. The ideal candidate will have an active research agenda in the interdisciplinary study of law and/or politics, and will be expected to teach graduate seminars and undergraduate courses, mentor Ph.D. students, and contribute to departmental life. The position is open to various specializations and encourages candidates whose research intersects with the department's strengths in aesthetics, gender and sexuality, religion, science and technology, and the environment. Applicants must have a PhD or be enrolled in a PhD program at the time of application.
