Postdoctoral Research Fellow Fixed Term: Research Center for Structural Materials (RCSM), Corrosion and Protection Group

The National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the Corrosion and Protection Group within the Research Center for Structural Materials (RCSM). The successful candidate will conduct research on the corrosion resistance of infrastructure structural materials. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or be candidates expected to obtain a doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering or related fields. Research experience in corrosion and surface modification of metallic materials is required, along with functional Japanese language skills for effective communication with corporate partners. The position is fixed-term, initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. The starting date is negotiable, with a target of October 1, 2026.
