Postdoctoral Research Fellow Fixed Term: Automated Electrochemical Experiments Team

The National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in the Automated Electrochemical Experiments Team. The successful candidate will conduct research and performance evaluation on materials for electrochemical energy conversion, utilizing autonomous experimental techniques. Responsibilities include R&D on electrode and electrolyte materials for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries, as well as electrocatalysts and gas diffusion electrodes for water electrolysis and CO₂ reduction. The position is fixed term, starting from October 1, 2026, with a contract that may be renewed annually based on performance. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree or be expected to obtain it by the time of appointment.
