The Akhtar lab at the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to explore the mechanistic and physiological functions of the histone acetyltransferase MOF/KAT8. The successful candidate will conduct biochemical, structural (cryo-EM), functional, and biophysical analyses of the MSL and/or NSL complexes. Applicants should have a PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline, with several years of experience in biochemical approaches for protein complex purification and/or analysis. A first-author publication is required, and experience with biophysical techniques is advantageous. Strong communication skills and experience supervising graduate students are assets.
