Postdoctoral Researcher in Experimental Geodynamic Modelling

The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on an NWO-funded project investigating subduction and mantle flow processes through laboratory-based geodynamic modelling. The successful candidate will design, conduct, and analyze experiments to test the influence of subduction rate and mantle viscosity on mantle velocity fields, using advanced Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) systems. The role involves publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting results at national and international conferences. The position is embedded within the Geodynamics and Tectonics research group led by Prof. Dr. Wouter Schellart, offering a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment with state-of-the-art facilities.
