Research Assistant in AI-driven Human Behaviour Recognition and Interactive Virtual Environments

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid seeks a Research Assistant to develop transformer-based models for recognizing and analyzing human behaviour and psychological states. The role involves creating and evaluating interactive virtual environments with emotion-aware AI-driven avatars to enable natural, immersive interactions, as well as designing intelligent dialogue systems that integrate domain-specific knowledge for context-aware communication. Candidates should have a solid background in Machine Learning and Deep Learning, with experience or interest in interactive virtual environments, AI-driven avatars, and intelligent dialogue systems. The position is part-time (20-25 hours/week) at UPM in Madrid and is funded by the Spanish State Research Agency and the European Commission under Horizon Europe.
