Postdoctoral Research Fellow Fixed Term: Research Center for Structural Materials

The National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the Research Center for Structural Materials (RCSM) within the Steel Research Group. The successful candidate will focus on the deformation and fracture behavior of steels. Applicants should have extensive experience in evaluating mechanical properties of metallic materials, especially in fracture mechanics testing, and must hold (or be expected to obtain) a Ph.D. in materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field. The position is initially for one year, renewable up to five years based on performance. The starting date is negotiable, with a salary range of 325,360 to 493,012 yen per month.
