Postdoctoral Scholar in Clean Energy Research

The Clean Energy Institute (CEI) at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is recruiting Postdoctoral Scholars to work on research spanning from the basic science of energy (e.g., electrochemistry, combustion kinetics) to applied energy research (e.g., fuel cells, gas turbines, smart grids). Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Initial appointments are for two years, with renewal contingent on performance and funding availability. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, ranging from $69,073 to $82,836. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until June 30, 2027, with reviews beginning July 31, 2026.
