PhD position: Prevalence, mechanisms and genomic targets of balancing selection

This PhD project aims to investigate the prevalence, mechanisms, and genomic targets of balancing selection in Coelopa flies. The candidate will work under the supervision of experienced researchers and will be involved in analyzing genomic data to understand how balancing selection maintains genetic diversity. The project will utilize both short-read and long-read sequencing data to explore structural variants and their role in adaptation. The candidate should possess a master's degree in evolutionary biology and have programming skills in R and/or bash. Proficiency in English is required, with basic knowledge of French preferred.
