The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at UCSF invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Sociology, to begin September 1, 2027. We seek scholars conducting empirical research on the sociology of health and illness. Applicants should have a PhD in Sociology by the time of hire and demonstrate expertise in medical sociology and health equity. Teaching responsibilities include courses in Advanced Quantitative Methods and sociological theory. Successful candidates will contribute to a diverse academic environment and may also engage with the nursing PhD program. Applications are due by September 24, 2026 for full consideration.
