Associate Professor or Professor in African Arts, Media and/or Cultural Studies

The Centre for Comparative Literature and the African Studies Centre at the University of Toronto invite applications for a tenure-stream position in African Arts, Media and/or Cultural Studies. This joint appointment (51%/49%) will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with a start date of July 1, 2027. Candidates must hold a PhD in African Studies, Comparative Literature, or a related field, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The role emphasizes innovative research, sustained high-impact contributions, and strong teaching credentials, including a teaching dossier and evaluations. The successful candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary programs and public scholarship aligned with the centres' missions.
