The University of Southern California invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Dr. Annie Hiniker’s laboratory at the USC Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center Neuropathology Core. This NIH-funded project, in collaboration with Dr. Allison Kraus’s lab at Case Western Reserve University, will investigate the emergence and modification of tau seeds in the normal human brain and their role in neurodegenerative disease. The role combines human neuropathology, RT-QuIC seeding assays, biochemical characterization, transcriptomic analysis, and multiomic approaches. Applicants should hold or be near completion of a Ph.D. in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry, pathology, or a related field, with experience in neurodegenerative disease research and molecular datasets preferred.
