The post-doctoral fellow will be involved in a project aiming to characterize the molecular regulators orchestrating circadian rhythms in marine diatoms. The project is based on the discovery of the bHLH-PAS protein RITMO1 and different photoreceptors, which will be used to explore the circadian clock system of diatoms. The research will integrate genome-wide molecular approaches with in-vivo analyses of light-dependent rhythmic processes, addressing the physiological and ecological relevance of circadian clocks in diatoms. The laboratory focuses on light-driven processes and chloroplast biology, investigating various molecular model systems and ecological phytoplanktonic species.
