This PhD project will develop novel immunotherapeutic tools for treating cancers with poor prognosis, including new lentiviral vectors for TRUCKs regulated by the tumor microenvironment and strategies to enhance CAR T cell effector function and persistence. The research integrates immunology, molecular/cellular engineering, tumor biology, advanced microscopy, and clinically relevant preclinical models to address limitations of current CAR therapies. The candidate will work within the Next Generation Immunotherapy Madrid consortium, combining basic and clinical expertise, with access to state-of-the-art technologies at IIBM-CSIC. The project aims to develop a therapeutic candidate for refractory or relapsed B-cell malignancies, including aggressive pediatric cancers.
