The work will involve analyzing phonetic data and developing new analysis tools based on large language models (LLMs). This research will be conducted from a socio-phonetic perspective, allowing for the testing of new linguistic hypotheses using diachronic and synchronic data. The candidate will collect and analyze categories in pre-existing corpora and classify them for comparison with perceptual data. The position is based at the DIRVED in Paris and requires a good command of phonetic analysis tools, as well as R and Python.
