Postdoctoral Position in Ancient Philosophy

The VU Philosophy Department is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the NWO-funded project 'Logic in Action in Late Antiquity' (LALA). The successful candidate will conduct research on philosophical activities in late ancient Alexandria, particularly after Hypatia's death. The research may focus on logic, mathematics, astronomy, metaphysics, or history. Applicants should possess a PhD in history of philosophy, mathematics, astronomy, or ancient history, and have research experience in related areas. Proficiency in Ancient Greek and fluency in English are required. The position offers a salary between €3,706 and €5,760 per month for a duration of 18 months, with the possibility of part-time work.
