Postdoctoral Position in One Health Surveillance of Microbiome Transmission at the Human-Wildlife Interface

The Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology is offering a two-year postdoctoral position focused on One Health surveillance of microbiome transmission at the human-wildlife interface in the Tana River region of Kenya. The successful candidate will analyze metagenomic data and collaborate with local researchers to understand the dynamics of microbial sharing among humans, livestock, and wildlife. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in biology, ecology, or genomics, and experience with bioinformatics tools. Proficiency in English is required, and familiarity with the socio-cultural context of East Africa is desirable. The position includes a research stipend and additional benefits.
