PhD in Evolutionary Genomics of Fungal Mating-Type Chromosomes

The PhD candidate will work in Tatiana Giraud's team on an ERC project studying the evolution of mating-type chromosomes in fungi. The project aims to investigate genomic degeneration and the dynamics of gene expression in relation to recombination suppression, utilizing a unique dataset of fungal species. The candidate will be part of a research team at the Paris Saclay University, contributing to understanding the evolutionary processes affecting sex chromosomes.
