This postdoctoral project focuses on the development of UHV-XPS instrumentation for studying PFAS adsorption and thermal transformation on activated carbon materials. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a custom-built ultra-high vacuum (UHV) XPS set up for studying the adsorption and thermal transformation of PFAS on activated carbon materials. The project combines instrumentation development with quasi in situ XPS studies aimed at understanding PFAS capture and conversion into functional fluorinated carbon materials.
