The Ries lab at the Max Perutz Labs (University of Vienna) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to develop a fast, simple, and robust 3D and multi-color MINFLUX microscope as an open-source tool. The project aims to reduce complexity and cost of custom MINFLUX instruments by building on a recently developed excitation module. The successful candidate will collaborate with an electrical engineer to prototype and stabilize the microscope, leveraging the lab’s expertise in microscope development. Applicants should hold a PhD in physics or engineering with a strong background in optics and hardware development, ideally with experience in scanning microscopy (e.g., STED, confocal) and programming (Python, FPGA). Excellent English communication skills are required. The position is a parental leave replacement limited until June 11, 2027.
