Professor (W1) History, Societies and Politics of Northern Europe

The Faculty of Language, Literature and Humanities at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is looking for a Professor (W1) in History, Societies and Politics of Northern Europe, starting October 1st, 2028. This tenure-track position is limited to 6 years, with an evaluation procedure for a lifetime appointment. The successful candidate will represent the full scope of modern history, societal structures, and political developments in Northern Europe, and must be able to teach in at least one Continental Scandinavian language and English. Fluency in German is expected to be acquired within two years. Responsibilities include teaching in relevant study programs and engaging in interdisciplinary cooperation.
