The Schmitt Lab for River System Science and Sustainability (RS3) at UC Santa Barbara is looking for a postdoctoral scholar to lead the development of a globally applicable framework for studying sediment connectivity in rivers. This role involves evaluating human alterations of riverine sediment fluxes and transport since 1950. The successful candidate will work on modeling approaches to estimate sediment supply to rivers and track sediment fluxes at various scales. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in relevant fields and expertise in numerical modeling, geospatial data analysis, and strong communication skills.
